The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner (previously called Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution) is a water-based toner with 7% glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). It helps remove dead skin cells, so your skin looks smoother and more even in tone. With regular use, it can also make skin look more radiant and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
The formula includes a Tasmanian pepperberry extract, which helps reduce the irritation that can come with exfoliation. It also contains amino acids for hydration, Panax ginseng root extract to help with the look of uneven tone, and aloe leaf water. The pH is about 3.6. Because the pepperberry extract is plant-based, the colour of the toner can change slightly from season to season.
You can use it on your face and neck, and also on your scalp to help reduce dryness. It is alcohol-free, oil-free, silicone-free, vegan and cruelty-free. Do not use it on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Glycolic acid can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so use sunscreen every day.
